Think Global, Act Local: Climate Action Without Borders
Environmental leaders Gidon Bromberg and Amanda McKenzie share a crucial message: climate change doesn’t respect borders. To fight it, we need to think globally.

About the Event
It’s time for a global approach to climate action.
In 2019, Gidon Bromberg, founder and Israeli director of EcoPeace Middle East, joined colleagues from Jordan and Palestine in a presentation before the UN Security Council. Their shared vision? To rehabilitate the almost dry Jordan River and to save the Dead Sea, which has lost one third of its surface area.
EcoPeace’s unprecedented landmark campaign, now known as the Good Water Neighbor program, has since become a model for environmental peacebuilding in other conflict zones.
Climate Council CEO and founder Amanda McKenzie also sees climate action from both local and global perspectives. Recognising that climate change doesn’t respect borders, the Climate Council advocates for Australia to work in collaboration with other countries, particularly our regional neighbours.
Bromberg and McKenzie join forces with host Sally Warhaft for an urgent discussion about how united, multinational climate action can enable us to confront our collective existential threat.
Presented in partnership with Plus61J Media and NIF Australia
