Elizabeth Honey: Secret Scribbles
Elizabeth Honey is a much-loved and award-winning children’s author, illustrator and poet. What’s her secret weapon? It’s her diary. Well, actually, it’s her collection of diaries.
Elizabeth’s collection of diaries date all the way back to her childhood – with entries covering family road trips, life at boarding school, family, friendship and more. ‘My diaries are funny, precious, useful, and revealing,’ says Elizabeth. ‘They helped me become a writer.’
This workshop is designed to inspire kids to start recording their own ideas, memories and stories – making use of writing, collage, drawing and decoration. After all, there’s no better outlet for a kid’s observations, rants, confessions, conspiracy theories and weird doodlings. Elizabeth will share tips, tricks and ideas for creating the coolest diary ever.
Who knows: she might even give the audience a sneak peak into her own super-confidential, top secret journal! Suitable for secret scribes aged seven to ten.
