Noni Hazlehurst is one of Australia’s favourite actors and presenters.
The much-loved Playschool presenter, Better Homes and Gardens host, and celebrated film, theatre and TV actress has enjoyed a wide-ranging career.
The winner of four AFIs (Little Fish, Waiting At The Royal, Fran and Monkey Grip), two Logies (Best Supporting Actress in a Mini-series for Waterfront, Best Supporting Actress in a mini-series for Ride On Stranger), and an Order of Australia. Her latest role is Detective Superintendent Bernice Waverley on City Homicide. During her time on Playschool she also has recorded many albums and appeared in many children’s concerts together the Sydney Symphony Orchestra.
She is the National Ambassador for children’s charity Barnardos, and spokesperson for children’s financial literacy program, “Finance First”, Noni also writes articles for newspapers and magazines and contributing to several books. She has served on numerous boards, including Film Australia and Belvoir St Theatre. Noni Hazlehurst was awarded an Honorary Doctorate of Philosophy from Flinders University in South Australia.
