About the Event
Author Jane Harrison’s work has captivated audiences globally, earning her international acclaim for plays including Stolen and Rainbow’s End. With an impressive body of work and a deep commitment to promoting and developing First Nations perspectives – Harrison has established herself as an essential voice in the Australian cultural landscape.
Harrison’s most recent work The Visitors reimagines the past through a radical retelling of the events of 26 January 1788 from a First Nations perspective. Premiering on stage in 2020 as part of the Sydney Festival, The Visitors has since evolved from a play into a novel and an opera.
In this wide-ranging and frank conversation with host Daniel James, Harrison discusses the story’s journey across artforms and sheds new light on this critical moment from Australia’s past.
This in-conversation event is the perfect opportunity to hear more insights into the award-winning production of The Visitors. Produced by Moogahlin Performing Arts and Sydney Theatre Company and presented at The Round on 26 and 27 July, tickets are available now.
Jane Harrison will be signing books after the event.
